In 1873, Adolph Coors founded the Coors brewery and began to brew the company’s first beer, Coors Original. The company has grown into one of the world's largest breweries and still brews in Golden, Colorado today. Coors has now become the second largest brewer in the US and their flagship beer in terms of revenue is Coors Light.
What is the best drinking game for Coors Light?
We may be a little biased, but it has to be Beer Can Fishing. You just can't turn down the chance to use a fishing pole to reel in pretty much any size of Coors can you can find. Our beer fishing lids fit on nearly every type of can they make with the exception of the aluminum stadium bottles and their mini kegs.
How to play:
Simply snap our custom can lid packs over the top of your Coors and drop them in an ice bath facing up. The zip ties attached to the can lids create a catchable loop above the can. Next, drop your fishing line into the cooler and see what you can catch!
We all know that Coors Light is best when it can be drank, "As Cold as the Rockies," and the nice thing about this drinking game is you can keep them chilled in an ice bath up until the time you hook it with your fishing pole and start to reel it in. Slap a koozie on that bad boy and you are ready to have an ice cold Coors on those warm summer days.
Beer Can Fishing is compatible with the following can varieties:
Mini 8 and 10 oz cans
Standard 12 oz cans
Their classic can was introduced in 1978 and was designed to be taller and skinnier than most of their competitors on the market. The marketing strategy behind it was founded in consumer research where people feel like a skinnier can equates to a healthier, lower calorie product.
Slim 12 oz cans
In 2020, Coors Light partnered with Ball Corp., a new multimillion-dollar can line dedicated to producing sleek cans to meet consumer demand for this style. They are now capable of making over 750 million of these skinny little guys a year across all their brands.
16 oz pounders
The name “pounder” is a play on words with the 16 oz of beer in the can being equivalent to one pound. This is a really common can type across beer manufacturers and our custom game lids snap right on these big boys!
24 oz tallboys
You are lucky if you get the chance to reel in one of these monsters while fishing. Not only will the heavier weight give you the thrill of catching a trophy wall hanger, it will also be a joy to drink all that mountain cold refreshment.
Coors Light can innovations
The brand is known for offering some of the most unique marketing strategies when it comes to their canning and labeling process. It all started back in 2022 when a small company named Chromatic Technologies, Inc. (CTI) founded by Lyle Small reached out to the Colorado-based brand. He approached the major brewery about the idea of taking his thermochromic ink technology that changes when being exposed to hot or cold temperatures and putting it on their cans. Once partnering, he helped propel them to become the No. 2 best-selling beer in America, while transforming not only how it is packaged, but how also consumers perceive the beer through the simplest of messages: mountains are blue, beer is cold.
